Hey, it's MCK.

My Background

While I’ve spent my career as an entrepreneur or in SMEs (aka companies you’ve never heard of), I’ve also worked with companies like Microsoft, Nokia, Société Générale, Honeywell, and Greenpeace.

I was born and raised in Upstate NY, studied International Relations (and “played” track) at Brown University, and have lived in China (Beijing and Yunnan Province) for over a decade.

Why "Communication"?

My curious-first approach to communication has evolved from years of failures in everyday conversation and a few catastrophic relationships.

A few notable catastrophes communication lessons learned:

  • Why my first company crashed and burned (hint: my co-founder and I did not speak the same language)
  • How to NOT navigate a sticky job situation when you work for your friends and when expectations don’t match the reality
  • The worst communication strategy in a romantic relationship (or any relationship. ever.) “she will change and it will all be okay”

QSATA's Origins

After that last lesson (my failed romantic relationship… it was a doozy), I started an experiment that evolved into the Bounce Conversation Framework. A questions-first process that helped me find my answers, by asking others about their top-of-mind challenges/situations.

And all the experimenting got me to realize how important the way we communicate is to our relationships with others (and ourselves).

If we’re better communicators, we live better lives.

So I created MasterCom as a practical approach to equip others with the tools to be better communicators and to improve their relationships…

  • that didn’t require time off / away
  • where they could start to see immediate results and
  • would set them up for continued growth after our time together.

And that’s the short version of how this all started.

So as we come to the end of this page, here's the bottom line...

I’d like to help you hear things you may not have heard before, see things you haven’t seen on your own, and say things you haven’t been able to say (or ask) before.

I hope you’ll take advantage of one of the options below today.

Here’s how I can help…
